Deputy Prime Minister Trần Lưu Quang presents floral congratulation to Most Venerable Thích Thanh Dũng

The Deputy Prime Minister was accompanied by Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Vũ Chiến Thắng, Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Vũ Hoài Bắc, and representatives from central agencies and Bac Ninh provincial government.

The government official visited and met with Most Venerable Thích Thanh Dũng, Deputy Patriarch cum Secretary of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)'s Discernment Council in Ham Long Pagoda (Bac Ninh city) and Senior Venerable Thích Đức Thiện, Vice President cum General Secretary of the VBS’s Central Executive Council, and Deputy of 15^th National Assembly in Phat Tich Pagoda (Tien Du district).

During the visits, Deputy Prime Minister Trần Lưu Quang extended warm celebrations of Vesak Day to Most Venerable Thích Thanh Dũng, Senior Venerable Thích Đức Thiện, and other Buddhist monks, nuns and lay followers in Bac Ninh province.

He highly appreciated practical contributions made by the VBS’s monks, nuns and lay followers in patriotic and social welfare programs over the past years, demonstrating their responsibilities in building the great national unity and promoting socio-economic development of the country.

The Deputy Prime Minister expressed hope that Most Venerable Thích Thanh Dũng, Senior Venerable Thích Đức Thiện and other Buddhist dignitaries would continue guiding lay Buddhist followers to practice the religion according to the Church’s motto ““Dharma - Nationality - Socialism” and the State law, and actively engage in social programs and patriotic movements launched for bringing a prosperous and happy life to Vietnamese people.

On the occasion, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Vũ Chiến Thắng and Chairman of GCRA Vũ Hoài Bắc presented floral boutiques and extended Vesak celebrations to Senior Venerable Thích Đức Thiện and Buddhist monks, nuns and followers in Bac Ninh province.
