A three-day conference to provide defense-security knowledge for religious dignitaries, deacons in provinces and cities in the 1st Military Region opened on September 10 in Thai Nguyen city.
The event was co-organized by the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) and the Central Council for Defense-Security Education.
Present at the opening ceremony of the conference included Dr. Vũ Chiến Thắng Chairman of the GCRA, Lieutenant General Ngô Minh Tiến, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army cum Vice Chairman of the Central Council for Defense-Security Education, and 142 dignitaries and deacons of religions in the 1st Military Region.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the conference, Chairman of the GCRA Vũ Chiến Thắng highlighted practical contributions made by religious dignitaries and deacons for national defence and socio-economic development in the 1st Military Region.

The three-day event covers the policies on ethnicity and religion attached to defense and security; the policies on national security protection; basic contents of the Law on Belief and Religion and Decree 162, and practical issues for socio-economic development in combination with defense-security enhancement.
