The committee for religious affairs in Da Nang city held on April 13 a meeting for guiding the state management of belief practices in the grassroots administration in the city.
The conference was chaired by Chairman of the municipal religious committee Ngô Khôi and attended by about 100 commune-level officials and civil servants.
The meeting covered key contents of the state administration on practices of beliefs. These include relating legal provisions regulating the practice of belief and practical issues, such as the establishment of management board or identification of those representing the belief practice, organization of belief festivals, land and supporting facilities of belief worshipping establishments.
According to the 2017 municipal statistics, there are diverse forms of belief worshipping in Da Nang, including worships of ancestors, village tutelages, earth deities, ghosts, national heroes and those having merits or great virtues, etc.
Up to now, there are 1,780 belief worshiping establishments in the city, including 1,136 lineal worshiping houses, 628 communal houses, temples, shrines, with 13 establishments related to Mother Goddess Worship and three establishments of the Chinese Vietnamese community. In addition, there are 164 private temples, shrines and worshipping altar related to Mother Goddess Worship in the locality.
