Central commission for mass mobilization’s delegation meets with Thai Binh provincial government

A delegation of the Central Commission on Mass Mobilization led by Vice Chairman Nguyễn Lam had a meeting on religious affairs with Thai Binh provincial authorities on September 10.  

Joining the meeting included Secretary of Thai Binh provincial Party Committee cum Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Nguyễn Hồng Diên, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party committee cum Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Đặng Trọng Thăng, and representative leaders of concerning provincial departments and agencies.

The meeting focused on results of the implementation of religious and belief-related affairs in the locality.

As reported at the event, since 2009, the provincial authorities have allocated 22.13 ha of land for local religious organizations to build or expand worshipping places and the granted land-use-right certificate has been issued for 1,102 religious establishments, accounting for 90.3% of the total religious places in the province.

The Northern Province of Thai Binh is currently home to 280,000 followers of Buddhism, Catholicsm and Protestantism, accounting for 15% of the population in the locality.
