Center for Research & Preservation of Vietnamese Faith Culture of Belief holds seminar in Hanoi

The Center for Research & Preservation of Vietnamese Faith Culture of Belief under the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association held on January 12 a seminar on the Mother Goddess worship.

Taking part in the event includes Mr. Nguyễn Ánh Chức – Director of the Government Religious Committee’s Belief and Other-Religion Affairs Department, representatives from the culture, sports and tourism ministry, the foreign affairs ministry, the Vietnam cultural heritage association, researchers on culture, and a large number of practitioners of Mother Goddess worship across the country.

The seminar themed “The Practice of Vietnamese Mother Goddess Worship – two-year Introspection of Social Awareness Perspective” recorded over 20 speeches from experts, scholars and state officials on the practice of Vietnamese Mother Goddess worship, state policies on belief and the restoration of the worship music of the Mother Goddess worship, etc…

During the event, Director Nguyễn Ánh Chức presented changes in state policies toward the Mother Goddess worship and proposed several recommendations to the center for research and preservation of faith culture of belief.

On the occasion, the preservation of faith culture of belief center reviewed its performance in 2018 and working plans for 2019.

The Vietnam cultural heritage association also presented certificates of recommendation to individuals and groups of the preservation of faith culture of belief center for their outstanding contributions in the preservation of Vietnamese belief culture.

Earlier, as part of the 2nd anniversary of the UNESCO recognition Vietnamese Mother Goddess worship as an intangible cultural heritage, the institute for Mother Goddess worship research and development organized on January 11 a program of celebrating activities. The program taking place at the Ha Noi Cheo theatre featured a photo exhibition on Mother Goddess worship, performances of special Hau Dong (going into trance) sessions, Hau Dong’s costumes, etc…
