The Border Guard Command in Ha Tinh province in collaboration with the provincial Youth Union and the People's Committee in Huong Khe district held on August 14 a celebration of Lap Lo (Filling hole) festival of the Chut minority ethnic group residing in Rao Tre village of the district’s Huong Lien commune.
Traditionally, Lap Lo festival of the Chut ethnic group is annually held on the 7th day of the seventh lunar month with the meaning of plugging holes and drilling seeds, signaling the completion of the sowing of seeds on their upland fields.
The Lap Lo festival is also aimed for villagers to celebrate, thank heaven and earth, make prayers for favorable weather, good harvests, good health, and long, happy and prosperous life for local people.
During the program, the provincial Border Guard Command, the provincial Youth Union and the People's Committee of Huong Khe district presented 44 gift sets to Chut ethnic families, each containing 500,000 VND in cash and sticky rice, pork, fish and other necessities.

Rao Tre village in Huong Khe district’s Huong Lien commune currently has 44 families of Chut minority ethnic group with 156 people.
