Ca Mau authorities honor religious followers for practical contributions in Covid-19 prevention work

Chairman of the People’s Committee in Ca Mau province issued on January 6 a decision awarding certificates of commendation for one religious group and 11 religious individuals in the province.

Accordingly, the provincial Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Committee received a certificate of merit for practical contributions of over 200 tons of rice, medicines presented to 7,000 poor patients, 50,000 meals, 40,000 bottle of water, 1,430 cartons of milk sent to quarantine areas and necessities provided to local people with total value of 25.6 billion VND.

Eleven religious followers are dignitaries and deacons from the Minh Chon (Bright Verity) Caodai Church, the Representative Committee of the Tay Ninh Caodai Church, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, the Catholic Church, and the Pure-land Buddhist Association in the locality.

In 2021, religious dignitaries and deacons in the province have raised funds and gathered supports sent to people affected by Covid-19 pandemic, hospitals, field hospitals and quarantine areas, including 06 ventilators, 480 sets of protective clothing, 180 liters of alcohol, over 12,000 facemasks, over 200 medicine bags for treatment of infected patients, over 90 tons of rice, 130 tons of vegetables and fruits, 1,500 boxes of noodles, over 40,000 meals, nearly 45,000 gift sets, etc with the total value of over 12.4 billion VND.
