Vice Chairman of Ca Mau provincial People’s Committee Trần Hồng Quân led a delegation on October 9 to extend visits to Khmer pagodas in the province on occasion of Khmer traditional Sene Dolta festival.
The delegation visited Rach Cui pagoda in Khanh Binh Dong commune and Tam Hiep pagoda in Tran Hoi commune, Tran Van Thoi district.
At visiting places, while extending congratulatory wishes to Khmer Buddhist dignitaries and local people on occasion of the Sene Dolta festival, Vice Chairman Trần Hồng Quân called on them to proactively participate in local movements, contributing to the socio-economic development in the locality.
On the same day, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Huỳnh Khải also paid congratulatory visits to Khmer Buddhist dignitaries at Cao Dan pagoda in Tan Loc commune and Dau Nai pagoda in Tan Loc Bac commune, Thoi Binh district.
Earlier, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Phạm Bạch Đằng also visited Monivongsa pagoda in Ca Mau city and Vice Chairman of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Đoàn Tấn Sỹ extended congratulations to monks in Rach Giong pagoda in Thoi Binh district.
Sene Dolta Festival is similar to Buddhist Parents’ Day, which often held to pay respect and gratitude to the parents and ancestors.
