The Agricultural & Rural Development Department in Ha Tinh province in collaboration with the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Committee in the province held on December 24 a fish release at Nha Duong lake in Can Loc district’s Thien Loc commune.
Over 2.1 tons of fingerlings were released to Nha Duong lake with solemn Buddhist rituals.
The fish release is regularly organized by the provincial agricultural & rural development department in collaboration with the VBS’s executive committee to regenerate aquatic resources, balance the ecological environment and protect biodiversity. This program also helps raising knowledge and responsibility of local people on the protection of aquatic resources and preventing fishing practices by destruction.
Earlier, five tons of fingerlings were also released to Ke Go lake in Cam Xuyen district and Ngan Truoi lake in Vu Quang district; 1.5 tons of fingerlings as planned will be released to Khe Mo dam in Huong Son district.
