The congress taking place in Convention Center in the province saw the presence of Most Venerable President of the VBS’s Central Executive Council Thích Thiện Nhơn.
Guests at the event included Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party’s Committee cum Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Nguyễn Hoài Anh, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front’s Committee in the province Bố Thị Xuân Linh, Director of the Southern Religious Affairs Department under the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Trà Quang Thanh, and representatives of other religious organizations in the locality.

The congress elected 67 members to the VBS’s Executive Committee in the province for the 2022-2027 tenure, with Most Venerable Thích Minh Nhật was reselected as Head of the Committee.
As reviewed at the congress, the province currently has 294 Buddhist worshipping places, with two pagodas recognized as the national cultural heritage, and 992 monks and nuns. In the last term, the Buddhist High School in the province has successfully completed 12 Buddhist courses with 550 participating monks and nuns. Regarding social charities, the provincial VBS’s Social Charity Board has organized social and charitable programs with the total value of nearly 210 billion VND in total.
During the congress, outstanding Buddhist groups and individuals received certificates of merit from the Central VBS, and certificates of recommendation from the People’s Committee and the VFF in the province for their practical contributions in the locality over the past years.
