A delegation of Ben Tre provincial authority led by Secretary of the provincial Party’s Committee Lê Đức Thọ paid a visit on October 25 to the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Committee in the province based in Vien Minh pagoda.
The provincial Secretary was accompanied by Secretary of Ben Tre municipal Party’s Committee Nguyễn Anh Tuấn, Vice Chairwoman of the provincial Commission for Mass Mobilization Phạm Thị Thanh Thảo, Acting Chairman of the provincial Fatherland Front Committee Nguyễn Phúc Linh, and Deputy Director of the provincial Home Affairs cum Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Đào Văn Tụ.
The visiting delegation was welcomed by Most Venerable Thích Nhựt Tấn, Chairman of the VBS executive committee and Most Venerable Thích Lệ Linh, Standing Vice Chairman of the VBS executive committee.
During the visit, Secretary Lê Đức Thọ informed the VBS chapter results of the Covid-19 prevention and control in the province and measures launched by provincial authorities for socio-economic development in the locality after the pandemic.
The provincial secretary also highly appreciated the VBS’s propaganda work encouraging monks, nuns and lay Buddhists in the epidemic prevention and social charity works in the locality over the past years.
