Vice Chairman of Bac Lieu provincial People’s Committee Vương Phương Nam chaired on March 27 a meeting on the organization of Chol Chnam Thmay Festival 2018.
According to the organization plan, Bac Lieu authorities will hold many activities to celebrate the Chol Chnam Thmay Festival including a meeting for honoring 100 typical Khmer families, presentation of charity houses to poor khmer households, organization of a meeting with Khmer monks and officials, an art performance program by authorities of Bac Lieu and Soc Trang, photo exhibition, presentation of 3,000 gift sets to Khmer people, etc.
The organization board of Chol Chnam Thmay Festival also selected Hoa Binh pagoda (Hoa Binh district) as the venue for the art performance program.
During the meeting, Vice Chairman Vương Thành Nam asked local authorities to create favorable conditions for Khmer people to celebrate their traditional New Year and promote cultural traditions.
