The Public Security in Tien Giang province in collaboration with the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) in the province and the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs held on November 16 a meeting with religious organizations in the province.
At the meeting
The event taking place on occasion of the 92nd anniversary of the National United Front of Vietnam (November 18, 1930) was co-chaired by Chairman of the provincial Party Commission on Mass Mobilization Đỗ Tấn Hùng, Director of the provincial Public Security Nguyễn Văn Nhựt and Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Bùi Thị Mai, and attended by 70 dignitaries representing religious organizations of Catholicism, Protestantism, Buddhism, the Pure-land Buddhism, Hoa Hao Buddhism, Minh Su faith, Islam and five Caodai sects.
The event recalled the history the National United Front of Vietnam and updated information on social issues in the province.
Participating religious representatives informed that they would continue encouraging their followers to proactively engage in social movements, launched for ensuring public order and promoting sustained development in the locality
On the occasion, local authorities presented certificates of commendation to Most Venerable Thích Huệ Minh, Member of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Council cum Head of the VBS’s Discernment Committee in Tien Giang province, Bishop Peter Nguyễn Văn Khảm of My Tho diocese, and 18 groups for their outstanding contributions in patriotic movements in the locality.
