Secretary of An Giang provincial Party’s Committee Võ Thị Ánh Xuân led a delegation on April 10 to visit Khmer worshipping places on the occasion of the Chol Chnam Thmay festival.
The delegation visited Krang - Kroch pagoda in Chau Lang commune and Sa Lon pagoda in Tri Ton district’s Luong Phi commune.
At visiting places, Secretary Võ Thị Ánh Xuân extended his best wishes to Khmer Buddhist dignitaries and followers on occasion of their traditional New Year festival and encouraged Khmer Buddhists and people to strengthen solidarity and closely work with local authorities for community development. He also highlighted important roles of Khmer pagodas in the implementation of state laws.
Most Venerable Member of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s Discernment Council Chau Son Hy, Abbot of Sa Lon pagoda took the chance to thank local authorities for support extended to Khmer community.
On this occasion, the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs visited and conveyed the Government Committee for Religious Affairs’ greetings to five Most Venerables of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s Discernment Council and other Buddhist dignitaries of Khmer communities on occasion of their traditional New Year.
