The Buddhist School Branch for nuns in Dong Nai province based in Hue Giac Pagoda in collaboration with the 7th Military Region and the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s chapter in the province has kicked of the construction of its library at the ground-breaking ceremony held on October 30.
The event saw the presence of Seniour Venerable Thích Huệ Khai, Member of the VBS’s Central Executive Committee cum Chairman of the Executive Committee of the VBS chapter in Dong Nai, and Most Venerable Thích Phước Tú, Member of the VBS Central Buddhist Education Committee, Vice Chairman of the provincial VBS executive committee cum Deputy Director of the Buddhist School in Dong Nai.
Local officials at the ceremony Colonel Nguyễn Công Anh, Deputy Director of Political Affairs Department of the 7th Military Region, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Sơn Hùng and Vice Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Nguyễn Đình Kiên.
The library construction would cost 800 VND million, of which 500 VND million has been donated by the 7th Military Region.
Performing brick-laying ritual
As reported, in 2020, the 7th military region also presented 500 VND million to the Hoa Binh – Xuan Loc Vocational School under Xuan Loc Catholic Diocese for building a cultural and sport center costing one billion VND in total.
