The 7th congress of Catholics for the national construction and defense for the 2022-2027 tenure was successfully held on November 7-8 in Ha Nam province.

The event nominated 55 members to the Committee for Solidarity of Catholics in the province for the 2022-2027 tenure with Mr. Đoàn Đức Thuận reselected as Chairman of the committee.

As reviewed at the congress, in the last five years, Catholic communities in the province have made practical contributions valued at tens of billion VND for the Covid-19 prevention work and social, charitable activities for supporting the poor, the Study and Talent Promotion and Victims of Agent Orange / Dioxin, as well as people badly affected by natural disasters.
Speaking at the event, Priest President of the Central Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics (CSVC) Joseph Trần Xuân Mạnh expressed hope that the Catholic solidarity committee in the province would practically work in accordance with the CSVC’s motto of “fellowship, sharing and serving”.
On the occasion, Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front’s Central Committee Ngô Sách Thực extended congratulations to the congress, and highlighted practical contributions made by the Catholic community for the socio-economic development in the locality.
