The festival is expected to draw the participation of 15,000 youths from 10 dioceses from Vietnam North.

To prepare for the Youth Festival, Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong Municipal People’s Committee Nguyễn Xuân Bình and Haiphong Diocese led a delegation on November 6 to check the preparations for the event at the Canh Dieu International Exhibition Center.

Vice Chairman Nguyễn Xuân Bình said the municipal authority has assigned the municipal committee for religious affairs to be the focal point for efforts of concerning departments in creating best conditions for the Catholic event.

He also asked Catholic diocese for a close coordination with the municipal authorities so as to together ensure the right to freedom of religion as well as public safety and social order in the locality during the event.
