The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Board in Binh Phuoc province’s Bu Gia Map district in collaboration with Phuoc Long Caodai parish held on January 24 a “0 VND fair” for supporting the poor in three communes of Phu Nghia, Phu Van and Duc Hanh in the district, ahead of Lunar New Year (Tet).
Attended the charitable event’s opening included Venerable Thích Minh Hậu, Chairman of the VBS executive board in the district; Student Priest Thái Minh Thanh, Head of the Caodai parish under the Tay Ninh Caodai Church in Phuoc Long provincial city; representatives of local authorities, and about 1,000 families in the three communes.
During the program, each participating family received a ticket equivalent to 500,000 VND for selecting food and necessities for Tet festival.

Bu Gia Map is a border district with 40% of the population being ethnic minorities. For the past years, many religious organizations have organized charitable events for bringing supports to poor locals ahead of Tet.
