Currently, Yen Lap district in Phu Tho province has 6,446 religious followers, of which 193 are religious party members, 2,262 are religious ethnic minorities.
The district has 3 operative religions of Buddhism, Catholicism and Protestantism, and 22 worshiping places with 6 places given the land use right certificate
Every year, the district executive committees and relevant agencies attached its importance to the State administration on religious affairs and guided religious dignitaries and followers to comply with the laws, regulations and provisions of the Charter of religious organizations, encouraged followers to strengthen unity and live "better secular and religious life”.
It’s reported that the district has invested about 23 billion VNĐ to implement social welfare programs, about 24 billion VNĐ for the construction of rural infrastructure in religious residential areas; organized vocational training courses, created employment opportunities and supported business fund raising with priorities given to religious followers.
The district has typical examples of economic success by religious followers. Mr. Phan Tiến Trường’s household – a Catholic family in Dong Thinh commune raised an income per capital of 108.8 million per year and created jobs for 40 to 60 employees. Buddhist Nguễn Thị Dung, member of Buddhist Association of Hung Long commune raised an income of 72 million VNĐ per year. Catholic Nguyễn Thị Việt in Xuan An commune created an average income of 94.6 million VNĐ per year and employed 15 workers.
In addition, religious dignitaries and followers in the district have actively responded to movements launched by local authorities such as "All people unite to build cultural life in residential area", “Fund for the Poor”, given supports to families and children confronting with difficulties,
