The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s (VBS) executive committee in Gia Lai province in collaboration with the provincial religious committee held on July 4 an exchange meeting with Buddhist clerics attending the summer retreat in the province.
The event taking place at the office of the VBS’ executive committee based in Buu Thang pagoda saw the participation of over 150 monks and nuns of the Buddhist retreat taking place at three pagodas of Buu Thang, Buu Son, and Ngoc Phuc located in Pleiku city.
During the meeting, Chairman of provincial religious committee Hồ Hải Tần introduced basic contents of the Law on Belief and Religion 2016 and its guiding Decree 162.
The Chairman also asked Buddhist clerics to guide Buddhist practices by Buddhist followers in the locality according to the state law and the Charter of the VBS.
