The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Board in Tra Vinh province’s Tra Vinh city held on March 4 a meeting for reviewing Buddhist affairs 2021 and mapping out plans of activities for 2022.

The event taking place at Phuoc Khanh pagoda in Long Duc commune saw the participation of Most Venerable Thích Trí Minh, Member of the VBS’s Executive Council cum Vice Chairman of the provincial VBS’s Chapter, Most Venerable Thích Huệ Pháp, Vice Chairman of the provincial VBS’s Chapter cum Chairman of the VBS’s Executive Board in the city, and other members of the city VBS’s Executive Board
Local guests at the event included Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Board in the city Nguyễn Xuân Ngọc and Deputy Head of Home Affairs Office in the city Ngô Tấn Sỹ.
As reported at the event, in 2021, although the context of the complicated Covid-19 epidemic in the city, the VBS’s Executive Board in the city has successfully convened its congress for the 2021-2026 tenure and established Phuoc Long pagoda in Long Tri village of Long Duc commune. In addition, the VBS chapter in the city has sent supports, worth 6.6 billion VND in total, to the disadvantaged people and the Covid-19 prevention work in the locality.
