VBS in Tien Giang organizes charitable market and hands over charitable houses to poor people

Celebrating Buddha’s Enlightenment Day (the eight of the twelfth lunar month), the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Sub-committee for Nun Affairs in Tien Giang province opened on January 10 a charitable market at Tinh Nghiem pagoda located in My Tho city’s My Phong commune for helping poor people.

During the market, 500 vouchers, each worth 400,000 VND, have been presented to poor people so that they can collect rice, noodles, soy sauces, cooking oils, jam, vegetables or clothes at the market. As reported, the charitable market was valued at over 200 billion VND in total.
Early, the sub-committee for nun affairs in the province has presented two charitable houses valued at over 60 million VND in total and necessities to poor families in communes of Thanh Nhut and Binh Nhi of the province’s Go Cong Tay district, ahead of Lunar New Year 2022.
