VBS in Thua Thien Hue organizes activities welcoming Hue Festival 2024

Within the framework of the Hue Festival 2024 (June 7-12), the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Committee in Thua Thien Hue province in collaboration with the Festival Organization Board has held many welcoming activities to welcome the Festival.

The VBS’s Social Charity Board and other the Festival’s organization board held on June 8 a vegetarian festival at Nghinh Luong Temple with the participation of nearly 2,000 people and visitors. The event attracted 36 booths, and over 72 dishes from hotels, restaurants and pagodas in the locality.

All financial revenue from the festival will be used for supporting to disadvantaged people in the locality.

A flower-shaped lantern festival was held in the night of June 9 night, with about 30,000 flower-shaped lanterns lit up and released on Huong River to pray for peace, prosperity and happiness in the country.

On the occasion, the VBS’s Executive Committee has organized an art exhibition of Buddhist culture with themed Lotus at Lieu Quan Buddhist Cultural Center. The exhibition showcases 110 art works by 20 authors, who are famous artists and sculptors from Hue as well as across the country. The displayed art works are meticulously crafted, rich in content, diverse in forms, genres, and materials such as lacquer, ceramics, bronze, pebbles, and other traditional materials. The exhibition introduces, through lotus images Buddhist culture, ideology and philosophy associated with the daily life. The exhibition will last until the end of Hue Festival 2024.
