A charity program to present scholarships to pupils and students with excellent school results in Da Lat city and Lac Duong district of Lam Dong province and supplies to the poor and people with disabilities in the province was held on August 29.

The event was co-organized by the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Executive Committee in Lam Dong province and the provincial education promotion Association on occasion of the 10th congress of the VBS Chapter in Lam Dong.
Attending the event included Most Venerable Thích Thanh Tân, Chairman of the provincial VBS Executive Committee, Head of the provincial education promotion association Nguyễn Xuân Ngọc, Buddhists, sponsors, pupils from schools in Da Lat city and Lac Duong district, students of colleges in Da Lat city, ethnic minorities in Phi Lieng commune of Dam Long, and disabled people from the disabled and blind associations in the province.

The event presented 50 scholarships, worth one million VND each, to pupils of 10 schools; 50 gift sets, worth 500,000 VND each to students of five colleges and centers for continuing education, and over 150 sets of essential supplies, worth 500,000 VND each, to the poor and disabled people.
The total value of the charity program worth 150 million VND was contributed by Thien Tam Buddhist Family in Da Lat city.
