The 10th congress of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Chapter in Lam Dong province was successfully convened on August 30.

The event saw the presence of Most Venerable Thích Thiện Pháp, Vice President of the VBS Central Executive Council, and about 400 monks, nuns and lay Buddhists in Lam Dong and neighbor provinces.
Local guests at the event included Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Phùng Khánh Tài, Vice Chairman of the provincial VFF Committee Võ Ngọc Hiệp and Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Phạm S.
New provincial VBS’s executive committee for the 10th term makes its debut
The congress elected the 66-member Executive Committee of the VBS in the province for the 10th term with Most Venerable Thích Thanh Tân reselected as Chairman of the provincial VBS’s Executive Committee.

On the occasion, 24 Buddhist individuals were received commemoration medals of the VFF central committee for their outstanding contributions in fostering national great solidarity. The province People’s Committee and the provincial VFF Committee also presented certificates of commendation to 20 Buddhists groups and 27 individuals for their outstanding contributions in Buddhist affairs and patriotic movements in the province during the 2017-2022 term.
