VBS Central Executive Council holds online year-end conference

The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Council held on December 12 an online conference for reviewing Buddhist affairs 2021 and mapping out plans of activities for 2022.

Most Venerable Thích Thiện Nhơn speaks at the year-end event in Ho Chi Minh city

The conference co-chaired by Most Venerable Thích Thiện Nhơn, President of the VBS’s central executive council and Most Venerable Thích Thiện Pháp and Most Venerable Thích Thanh Nhiễu, Standing Chairmen of the VBS’s executive council.

Distinguished guests at the online event from Quan Su pagoda in Hanoi included Vice Chairwoman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Trần Thị Minh Nga.

The annual conference discussed draft reports on the VBS’s affairs in 2021 and approved working plans set for 2022 including the provincial – level congress of the VSB in provinces and cities and the 9th national congress of the VBS for the 2022-2027 tenure.

Buddhist dignitaries and delegates join the event from Hanoi

As reported at the event, the VBS Central Executive Council, executive committees in provinces and cities and Buddhist followers nation-wide have made practical contributions to the Covid-19 prevention work with the total value of over 2,500 billion VND.
