The Executive Committee of the Pure-land Buddhist Association in Tien Giang province held on February 26-27 a meeting for reviewing its religious affairs 2022 and working plans 2023.
Present at the event taking place in Hung Thanh temple located in the province’s Go Cong provincial city included Rev. Head of the Pure-land Buddhist’s Executive Committee in the province Trần Công Chức and 60 members of the Buddhist Association.
Guests at the event included Vice Chairman of the provincial Religious Affairs Committee Trần Văn Khuê.
As reported, the provincial Pure-land Buddhist Association in Tien Giang province currently has ten clinics, with 3,524 practitioners.
In 2022, clinics of the provincial Pure-land Buddhist Association has spent nearly six billion VND in total for social charities, including the provision of free medical examination to 45,729 patients, presentation of 1,300 charity meals and 3,920 sets of support supplies to poor people, and contributions for the construction of two rural roads.
In the field of religious affairs, the provincial Pure-land Buddhist Association has organized one presentation course for 44 members and one tenet course for 26 members, registered 84 new members, ordained 29 dignitaries, rebuilt one temple and upgraded two clinics in the locality.
