A ceremony for opening the 13th Intermediate law training course for key Theravada Buddhists in Kien Giang was held on August 5 at the Pali Buddhist Teachings and Precepts School based at Soc Xoai pagoda in Hon Dat district’s Soc Soc commune.

The law training course was co-held by Southern Law College, the Ethnic Boarding Vocational School in Kien Giang and the Solidarity Association of Patriotic Buddhist Monks in the province, and drew the participation of 30 monks and other key Buddhists in the locality.
The training course aims to provide knowledge and professional skills related to State laws concerning, administrative, civil, economy, criminal, land aspects, and basic knowledge on the organization and tasks of several judicial professions.
The training course consists of 22 modules and 58 credits, including 255 hours for general subjects and 1,140 hours for specialized subjects.
