Hoa Hao Buddhist in An Giang’s Cai Dau town convenes general meeting

The Hoa Hao Buddhism in Chau Phu district’s Cai Dau town of An Giang province held on March 29 its 6th general meeting.

Executive board of Hoa Hao Buddhism for 2024-2029 term makes its debut

The event saw the participation of representatives of provincial authorities and 100 delegates representing Hoa Hao Buddhists in Cai Dau town.

The 6th general meeting nominated nine members to the executive board of the Hoa Hao Buddhism in the town for the 2024-2029 tenure, with Rev. Nguyễn Văn Thắm was reselected as the chairman of the executive board.

An Giang province currently has four Hoa Hao Buddhist executive boards of Chau Phu district’s Cai Dau town, Chau Thanh district’s Binh Hoa commune, Phu Tan district’s Phu Hung commune, and Cho Moi district’s Hoa Binh commune.

As reported in the gathering, in the 2019-2024 tenure, Hoa Hao Buddhism in the town spent 9.6 billion VND on social charities, including the construction of charitable houses, rural bridges and roads, and raising of the study promotion fund for supporting disadvantaged pupils.
