The Representative Board of Hoa Hao Buddhist Church in An Giang held on May 18 a meeting to review its mid-term performance in the 2019-2024 tenure.

The event saw the participation of Chairman of the Central Executive Committee of Hoa Hao Buddhist Church Nguyễn Tấn Đạt, Chairman of the Church’s Representative Board in the province Nguyễn Văn Tát and representatives from the district and commune-level executive boards of the Church in the province.
Distinguished guests at the event included Vice Chairman of the provincial Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilization Lê Khánh Hội, Vice Chairman of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Trương Hoàng Trọng and Deputy Director of the Home Affairs Department cum Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Nguyễn Phú.
As reported in the reviewing report, Hoa Hao Buddhist Church in An Giang province currently has 136 district and commune-level representative boards with over 1,000 deacons.
In the mid-term, followers of Hoa Hao Buddhism in An Giang have contributed over 346 billion VND to social, charitable activities including the operation of charity kitchens (worth over 24.9 billion VND in total), the construction of bridges and roads (worth over 48.7 billion VND in total), the building of charity and solidarity houses (valued at 21 billion VND), the provision of free herbal medicines (worth 34 billion VND in total); study promotion (valued at 1.8 billion VND), and supports for the Covid-19 prevention work (valued at 119.9 billion VND), etc.
