The Natural Resources and Environment Magazine under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment launched on March 19 “Green Pagoda” Program with tree planting in Quynh Lam pagoda in Trang An ward of Quang Ninh province’s Dong Trieu district.

The program was part of responses to the Prime Minister’s initiative for planting one billion trees and the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Magazine’s call “For a green Vietnam”.
Attending the event included Dr. Đào Xuân Hưng, Chief Editor of the Natural Resources and Environment Magazine, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee in the Dong Trieu provincial district Nguyễn Công Đán, Venerable Thích Minh Tuấn from the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Board in the district, and representatives of Quynh Lam pagoda.
During the program, the organizing board planted 1,008 young trees of different kinds within the Quynh Lam pagoda. Large numbers of different young trees would also be planted later in other worshipping places and cultural relic sites in the province.
The first “Green Pagoda” program was launched by the Natural Resources and Environment Magazine in 2021 in Thang Phuc pagoda located in Hai Phong city with the plantation of over 1,100 trees.
