The 7th congress of the Catholics for national construction and defense in Lam Dong province’s Bao Loc city took place on June 27.

Present at the event included Vice Chairman of the Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics in Lam Dong province Trương Đình Căn, Vice Chairman of the city People’s Council Bùi Văn Dũng, Chairman of the city Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Huỳnh Minh Chánh and 80 delegates representing Catholic parishes and followers in the city.
As reported at the one-day congress, Bao Loc city has 19,650 Catholics households with 81,789 people and 109 Catholic worshipping places. For the past five years, Catholic followers in the city have proactively engaged in movements launched by local authorities for socio-economic development in the locality.
The event selected 41 members to the Catholic Solidarity Board in the city for the 2022 – 2027 tenure with Priest Joseph Phan Đào Thục selected as the Head of the Board, and nominated 26 members to attend the congress the Catholics for national construction and defense in Lam Dong province.

On the occasion, the city People’s Committee and the city Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee presented certificates of recommendation to 5 Catholic groups and 10 individuals for their outstanding contributions in religious affairs and social charities for the 2017-2022 tenure.
