The event taking place at Pho Hoa Temple in My Tho city saw the presence of Reverent Chairman of the Minh Su Church’s Executive Board in Tien Giang province Nguyễn Đạo Thông, representatives from eight Buddhist Church’s worshipping places in the province and about 70 outstanding delegates. 

Local guests at the event included Vice Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Trần Văn Khuê and Vice Chairman of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Huỳnh Văn Hải.

The congress selected five members to the Church’s executive board in the province for the 2022-2027 with Reverent Nguyễn Đạo Thông reselected as Head of the Board, and nominated five members to attend the national congress of the Minh Su Theravada Buddhist Church.

As reported at the event, followers of Minh Su faith in the province have actively participated in local movements launched for supporting poor people, presenting scholarships to excellent students, sending relief supplies to flood victims,  etc, with the total contribution of over 2.7 billion VND.
