The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Board in Ha Tinh province’s Huong Son district in collaboration with the People’s Committee in the district held on May 1 a ceremony to inaugurate the reconstruction of Con Son Pagoda in Son Tien commune.

The event saw the presence of Most Venerable Thích Bảo Nghiêm, Vice President of the Central VBS’s Executive Council cum Chairman of the provincial VBS’s Executive Committee, and large numbers of Buddhist monks, nuns and lay followers in the locality.
Distinguished guests at the event included Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Hoàng Trung Dũng and Deputy Secretary the provincial Party Committee Trần Thế Dũng.
The nearly 600-years old, Con Son Pagoda is located at the foot of Thien Nhan mountain, near Luc Nien citadel – Lam Son relic site in Son Tien commune where King Lê Lợi started the uprising against the Ming invaders.
Due to the ups and downs of time and history, Con Son pagoda had deteriorated, and its restoration was officially started in 2021. The reconstruction of the pagoda on area of 8,000 m2 including three-jewels hall, a main worshiping hall, a guest and other facilities has been completed after 18 months with the total investment of nearly 28 billion VND.
As reported, Con Son Pagoda has been classified as the provincial historical cultural site in 2005 by the provincial People’s Committee.
