Caodai parish in Tien Giang inaugurates new oratory

Hoa Tinh Caodai parish under the Tay Ninh Caodai Church in Tien Giang province’s Cho Gao district held on December 4 a ceremony for inaugurating its new oratory located in Hoa Tinh commune of the district.

Present at the event included Cardinal Chairman of the Tay Ninh Caodai Church Thượng Tám Thanh, Priest Thái Đều Thanh, Priest Ngọc Mai Thanh and Priest Hương Mai, Deputy Heads of the Tay Ninh Caodai church’s representative committee in Tien Giang, and over 1000 members of the Caodai church.

Local officials at the event included Vice Chairman of the Committee for Religious Affairs in the province Trần Văn Khuê.

According to Priest Head of Hoa Tinh Caodai parish Thượng Nghĩa Thanh, the original oratory of the Caodai parish was built in 1939 and has been restored five times. In 2015, the provincial authorities approved for the Caodai parish to rebuild its oratory; and the construction of the new oratory has been completed after seven years, with the total investment of over five billion VND.

Speaking at the event, Cardinal Thượng Tám Thanh asked the Caodai parish to actively join local authorities in the rural development, environment protection and social charities helping disadvantaged people in the locality.

During the event, while extending congratulations to the Caodai parish, Vice Chairman Trần Văn Khuê also spoke highly of practical contributions made by local Caodai followers for social charities and the Covid-19 prevention work over the past years.

On the occasion, the local authorities in Hoa Tinh commune presented a certificate of recommendation to the Caodai parish for its practical contributions to the poverty reduction in the locality.
