Caodai parish in Lam Dong holds general conference

Da Lat parish under the Tay Ninh Caodai church in Lam Dong province’s Da Lat city held on May 12 its general conference for 2022-2027 tenure.

The event saw the presence of representatives from the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in Da Lat city, and about 200 leaders and members of Da Lat Caodai parish.

The one-day conference discussed results of social and religious activities of the parish in the past term and approved working plans for the 2022-2027 tenure. The event also elected members of the parish’s new management board for the 2022-2027 term and nominated delegates to attend the Tay Ninh Caodai Church’s upcoming national congress.

As reported at the event, Da Lat Caodai parish currently has 200 deacons and 6,000 members. For the past five years, Caodai followers in Caodai parish have proactively engaged in social movements launched by local authorities and contributed billions of VND to charitable activities. In particular, during the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak in Southern provinces, the parish has presented over 80 tons of vegetables and fruits, hundreds of set of essential supplies to people affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and contributed money to the Covid-19 fund launched by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.

The general conference also approved a list of an appointed dignitary and 11 deacons of the Caodai parish.
