Caodai parish in Hai Phong holds congress

Hai Phong Caodai Parish under the Tay Ninh Caodai Church in Hai Phong city held on June 10 its congress for 2022-2027 tenure.

The event taking place at the oratory of the parish located in Le Loi ward of Hai Phong city’s Ngo Quyen district saw the presence of Director of the Caodai Affairs Department under the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Nguyễn Phúc Nguyên, representatives from local authorities, religious organizations in the city and Caodai parishes of Phuc Duc and Dang Giang, and all members of the Caodai parish.

The one-day congress reviewed results of religious affairs of Hai Phong Caodai parish in the past term, mapped out working plans for the 2022-2027 tenure, approved a list of an nominated dignitaries and deacons of the Caodai parish and elected delegates to attend the Tay Ninh Caodai Church’s upcoming national congress.

As reported at the event, over the past term, Hai Phong Caodai parish has contributed nearly one billion VND to social, charities including donations to charity funds, charity kitchens in hospitals, and free distributions of medicines, antiseptic solutions, facemasks, etc.

Presenting certificates of recommendation to Caodai group and individuals

On the occasion, the authorities of Ngo Nguyen district presented certificates of commendations to one Caodai group and 16 individuals for their outstanding contributions in religious affairs and charities in the 2017-2022 period.

Hai Phong Caodai parish was established in 1937. Initially, the parish placed its headquarters in No. 173 Le Loi Street, Ngo Quyen district and in 1943 moved to No. 239 Chu Van An street, Lach Tray ward of Ngo Quyen district (now No. 9/28 Chu Van An street of Le Loi ward, Hai Phong city’s Ngo Quyen street).
