Buddhists in Ha Tinh & Quang Binh offer incense in tribute to martyrs

The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Commitee in Quang Binh province in collaboration with the People’s Committee in Minh Hoa district held on July 23 a solemnly requiem in tribute to soldiers who laid down their lives on the occasion of the 75th War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27).

On the occasion, the provincial VBS’s Executive Committee presented support packages to poor households, delivered meals for patients and presented bicycles to poor pupils in Minh Hoa district with the total value of over 560 million VND.

*In Ha Tinh province, monks, nuns and lay Buddhists in 13 districts have also organized requiems and lighted up candles to commemorate martyrs at martyr’s monuments and cemeteries in the province. These were part of activities held in tribute to soldiers who scarified their lives for the country’s freedom.
