At the event

The event taking place at Muong Thanh hotel saw the presence of Most Venerable Thích Thanh Nhiễu, Standing Vice President of the VBS’s Central Executive Council; Most Venerable Thích Bảo Nghiêm and Most Venerable Thích Gia Quang, Vice Presidents of the VBS’s executive council; Senior Venerable Thích Đức Thiện, Vice President cum General Secretary of the VBS’s executive council, and monks, nuns and other outstanding Buddhists in the province.

Guests at the event included Director of the Buddhist Affairs Department under the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Lê Minh Khánh, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Central Fatherland Front Committee Ngô Sách Thực, Vice Chairwoman of the provincial People’s Committee Giàng Thị Dung, and Priest Head of Lao Cai parish Peter Nguyễn Đình Đền.

The one-day event reviewed religious affairs of the VBS in Lao Cai in the 2017-2022 tenure and mapped out key plans for the 2022-2027 term, as well as elected a new 24-member executive committee with Most Venerable Thích Thanh Điện re-elected as Head of the VBS executive committee in the province.
