The new school year of the Buddhist High school under the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) in Tra Vinh province was solemnly opened at a ceremony held on September 14 in Luong Xuyen pagoda located in the province’s Tra Vinh city.

Present at the ceremony included Most Venerable Thạch Sok Xane, Vice President of the VBS’s Central Executive Council cum Chairman of the VBS’s Executive Committee in Tra Vinh province; Most Venerable Thích Thiện Thông and Most Venerable Thích Tâm Linh, members of the VBS’s Discernment Committee in the province; Most Venerable Thích Trí Minh, Rector of the Buddhist High School, and large numbers of Buddhist dignitaries from the VBS executive committee, and Buddhist high school, and enrolling monks and nuns.
Local guests at the event included Vice Chairwoman of the Committee for Religious Affairs in Tra Vinh Bùi Thị Nhã Hiền, Member of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front’s Standing Committee Thạch Ngọc Dũng.
Speaking at the event, Most Venerable Member of the VBS’s Central Executive Council Thích Trí Minh asked Buddhist lecturers to create favorable conditions for monks and nuns to complete the Buddhist course in order to better serve the Buddhist Sangha.
