Ban Chinh Caodai Church in Ben Tre reviews five-year activities

The Representative Committee of Ban Chinh (Correction-Path) Caodai Church in Ben Tre province held on October 4 a meeting to review results of its religious affairs in the 2017 – 2022 tenure.

The event taking place in Ben Tre Holy See in Ben Tre city saw the participation of 150 delegates representing 47 out of all 61 parishes of the Church in the province.

Local guests at the event included Vice Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Phạm Ngọc Thành and Vice Chairwoman of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Đặng Thị Phượng.

As reported at the event, during the 2017-2022 tenure, the provincial Representative Committee of the Caodai Church has recorded good results in important religious affairs including the organization of 1,122 meetings on religious tenets with the participation of over 23,000 followers, over 1,390 meetings on guidelines and regulations of the Church with the participation of over 31,000 followers, the initiation for 571 new followers, the construction of nine parishes, religious worshipping places with the total value of over 4.7 billion VND.

Regarding to social charities, the Church has established three 3 traditional medical clinics providing free acupuncture, herbal medicines and acupressure for 72,091 people and actively participated in humanitarian activities, such as helping the poor and people with difficult circumstances, providing disaster relief, etc with the total amount of over 7.1 billion VND.

The meeting also mapped out working plans for the sixth term and elected the five member new Representative Committee headed by Priest Thượng Lạc Thanh.

Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman Phạm Ngọc Thành spoke highly of practical contributions made by the provincial Representative Committee of Caodai Church over the past five years. He expressed hope that local dignitaries, leading personnel and followers of the Caodai sect would continue practicing the religion in accordance with the law and actively engage in patriotic movements and social programs, contributing to sustainable development of the locality.
