An Duc parish in Tien Giang commemorates death anniversary of Priest Joseph Phạm Thanh Minh

An Duc parish in Trung An commune of Tien Giang province’s My Tho city held on March 14 a ceremony to commemorate the death anniversary of Priest Joseph Phạm Thanh Minh.

Present at the event included Bishop of My Tho diocese Peter Nguyễn Văn Khảm, 50 priests, and large numbers of parishioners and the late Priest Phạm Thanh Minh.

Late Joseph Phạm Thanh Minh served as Chairman of the Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics in Tien Giang province from 2005 – 2020 and Member of the Central Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics. In March 2019, while serving as Head of Joseph Lao Cong parish in My Tho city, he suddenly passed away.

While serving as Chairman of the provincial Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics, the late Priest has proactively guided religious practices and social engagement of local parishioners in accordance with the Catholic Church and the Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics. Given these practical contributions, he has received certificates of commendation from the local government.
