The 6th congress of Catholics for the national construction and defense for the 2022-2027 tenure in Dong Thap province was successfully held on December 14.
Present at the event included Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Phan Văn Thắng and Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee in the province Đoàn Tấn Bửu.
Representative of Central Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics extends floral congratulations to the congress
As reviewed at the congress, in the last term, Catholic communities in the province has made practical contributions valued at tens of billion VND for social and charitable activities in the locality.
The event nominated 72 members to the Committee for Solidarity of Catholics in the province for the 2022-2027 tenure with Priest Henry Nguyễn Văn Ký reselected as Chairman of the committee, and selected four delegates to join the 8th congress of the Central Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics for the 2023-2028 tenure.
Group and individuals receive certificates of recommendation of Vietnamese Catholic Solidarity Committee in Dong Thap
On the occasion, the Central Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics presented certificates of recommendation to one Catholic group and one Catholic individual in the province; and medals to five groups and 30 individuals of the Catholic Community in Dong Thap were awarded with the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front for their practical contributions in patriotic movements in the locality.
