The construction of a Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Monument commenced in Tboung Khmum province in Cambodia on November 20.
The ground-breaking ceremony saw the presence of Secretary of State at the Cambodia Ministry of Cults and Religion and Standing Vice Chairman cum Secretary General of the Solidarity Front for the Development of Cambodian Motherland Nhem Valy and Vietnamese military attaché Nguyễn Thành Chính, amongst other local officials.
This is one of many monuments built or upgraded across Cambodia in recognition of the great contributions of Vietnamese and Cambodian soldiers who sacrificed their lives to liberate Cambodia from the genocidal Pol Pot regime.
The construction of the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Monument in Tboung Khmum province is scheduled for completion by the end of 2021.
