Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Vũ Chiến Thắng meets with Governor of Russia’s Buryatia Republic

A delegation from the Ministry of Home Affairs led by Deputy Minister Vũ Chiến Thắng visited and met with Head of the Republic of Buryatia of the Russian Federation Alexey Tsydenov in Ulan-Ude city on August 14 on the occasion of the 2nd International Buddhist Forum.

At the welcoming reception, Head Alexey Tsydenov had exchanges with the guests results of the 2nd International Buddhist Forum as well as the Republic of Buryatia's economic, cultural and tourism development. Regarding tourism, the Republic of Buryatia has gained a reputation for Lake Baikal, a world natural heritage recognized by UNESCO, the deepest and the largest natural freshwater lakes in the world.

For his part, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Vũ Chiến Thắng congratulated Head Alexey Tsydenov and the Republic of Buryatia for successfully hosting the Buddhist forum themed "Traditional Buddhism and the Challenges of the Modern Age”.

The Deputy Minister of Home Affairs also shared that, like the Russian Federation, Vietnam is a multi-ethnic and religious country, and Buddhism entering Vietnam more than 2,000 years ago with 14 million Buddhists and more than 50,000 worshipping places, always accompanies with the development of the country.

During the event, the two sides expressed their delight at the special relationship between Vietnam and Russia, with cooperation focusing  in human resource training in the fields of mineral exploitation, agriculture, and science and technology between the two countries.
