At the Season of Love Festival 2024

During the reception, while welcoming Pastor Franklin Graham, Vice Chairman Nguyễn Ngọc Hè shared with the Pastor and his delegation about the religious life in the city, and affirmed that the municipal authorities always pay due attention and create favorable conditions for legitimate religious practices of religions, including Protestantism.

The municipal official asked with the pastor to convey images of friendly people with the freedom of belief and religion in Vietnam to the U.S. and international friends. Especially, the Season of Love Festival 2024 in Can Tho city would be a vivid evidence of freedom of belief and religion in the country in general and in the city in particular.

Pastor Franklin Graham shared with the host about his own feelings about the religious freedom in Vietnam, and took the chance to thank the municipal authorities for creating favorable conditions to organize the Season of Love Festival 2024 in the city.

Can Tho city currently has 13 operating religions, with 330 worshipping places and 497,000 religious followers, accounting for 40 percent of the city’s population. In particular, the city currently has 22 Protestant organizations with nearly 19,000 followers, 18 Protestant churches and 51 congregations.

First time held in Can Tho, the Season of Love Festival 2024 was co-organized in a large scale by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) and the Assemblies of God of Vietnam on December 3. The program is held annually around the world by the BGEA.
