Vietnamese religious representatives attend ASEAN workshop on educational- cultural exchange in Indonesia

Upon the invitation from the Ministry of Education and Culture of Indonesia, religious representatives of Vietnam participated in a workshop on promoting cross cultural educational exchanges in ASEAN, which held on November 27 to 30 in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The religious delegates included Venerable Member of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Council Thích Giác Hiệp, Priest of Thuan Phat Cathedral Trần Quang Vinh, Vice Chairman of the Representatives Committee of Islamic community in Ho Chi Minh City MachDares Samael.
Head of the VFF Central Committee’s Department of Religious Affairs Nguyễn Văn Thanh also joint the religious dignitaries at the event.
The workshop focused on exchange of religious education in the ASEAN countries for sharing the global human values, the history and results of the bilateral exchange program between Islamic schools in Indonesia and Japan, and the Japanese educational system.
The workshop aimed to provide an opportunity for representatives of religious sects, public schools and state officials in Asian countries to promote intercultural education exchange.
