President Tran Dai Quang and his spouse visited Mahabodhi Temple where the Buddha has obtained enlightenment in the state of Bihar on March 2 beginning a three-day State visit to India at the invitation of Indian President Ram Nath Kovind.

The visit takes place at a time when Vietnam – India traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation have been developing extensively, especially since the establishment of the bilateral strategic partnership in 2007 and the elevation of the ties to the comprehensive strategic partnership in 2016.
It affirmed the Vietnam’s consistent external policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralization and diversification of foreign relations, including the friendship with India.
