Vietnam joins hands to preserve Asian Cultural Heritage Conservation

Deputy Minister of Vietnam Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoàng Đạo Cương attended on October 27 a dialogue for cultural heritage conservation themed “Asian Initiative for Cultural Heritage Conservation: Promoting Dialogue among Civilizations, Shaping the Future of Asia” in Beijing.  

The event was organized in a hybrid manner combining online and on-site formats and attended by leaders from the Ministry of Culture of Kyrgyzstan, Yemen, Armenia, UAE, Iraq, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Turkmenstan, Bangladesh, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Mongolia, Oman, and Vietnam; diplomatic delegations, senior officials of international organizations such as UNESCO, ICOM, ICOMOS, ALIPH.

The event covered three parallel sessions, namely: "Cultural heritage promotes sustainable development in Asia"; "Heritage supports Asian cultural exchange"; "Cultural heritage responds to address Asia's future challenges".

On the occasion, an Asian Cultural Heritage Digital Exhibition was also launched.

Many countries attend the conference

During the event, Vietnam has sent images to the Asian Cultural Heritage Digital Exhibition and delivered a speech themed "Cultural heritage and problems of all humanity", contributing to address problems of the global cultural heritage industry including environment protection, oceans, climate change adaption; sustainable development, hunger eradication and poverty reduction, prevention of ethnic and religious conflicts and terrorism, etc.
