On October 3rd, Most Venerable Thích Thanh Nhiễu, Standing Vice President of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) and Venerable Thích Đức Thiện, Vice President, Secretary General of the VBS Executive council, cum Head of the VBS International Buddhist Committee visited the Embassy of Indonesia in Hanoi for expressing sympathy with the loss of life and property caused by the tsunami and earthquake in the country.
During the visit, the Buddhist leaders presented the Embassy with $10.000 for sending to the victims of the natural calamity. Buddhist Xuân Trường also sent $10,000 to the victims.
The 7.3 magnitude earthquake has destroyed hundreds of thousands of houses and triggered a tsunami in Palu (Indonesia) that caused more than 1,300 people died.
